Constantin Brancusi:'Bird in Space'


Between 1922 and 1923 Romanian artist Constantin Brancusi created a series of 16 statues title 'Bird in Space.'
Seven of the sculptures were made of marble and the other nine were cast in bronze.
Although most of the sculptures in the series are housed in museums,several years ago,at Christie's spring auction of Impressionist and modern art in New York one of the bronze sculptures fetched a record setting $27.45 million US to become the world's most expensive sculpture.
