Chef James Martin on BBC Lifestyle

Cheeky celebrity chef James Martin has a store of over 500 recipes to create scrumptious, stupendous and often simple desserts for every occasion. In Sweet, he chooses recipes that scream sheer indulgence and unalloyed pleasure. Viewers on a diet, you have been warned; you certainly won’t be able to resist.
Shot on location in the kitchen of the chef ’s own home in the historic city of Winchester, this series sees James prepare three or four sweet dishes per show, from a simple fruit salad laced with grappa-spiked custard to splendid French creations like the Gateau St Honoré and old favourites like the Victoria Sponge. Each show will include one really glamorous (or "cheffy", as James says) pud.
A theme is chosen to lead each programme, which can be focused around mood and occasion – such as comfort food, posh puds, cooking for kids or making the best use of supermarket fare – or types of pudding, for example: sponges and soufflés, Italian puddings, ices and sorbets and, of course, chocolate.
